An apostrophe replaces letters that are left out in a pronoun-verb contraction. Some common contractions: he's, she's, it's, you're, I'm, we're, they're, I've. Some contractions are formed with a pronoun and a helping verb: is, have, or will. Pay attention when spelling a contraction. Make sure the apostrophe is in the correct place.
